I haven't worked much on my @Home site yet, because I've been focusing
on Rob@Work and Rob@School.
The links in the box to the left all work, though, and will give you a
pretty good preliminary view into my skull until I finish this page.
| One of my most time-intensive hobbies online is reading
Slashdot. Somewhere
between journalism and barroom chatter, I enjoy the vivid,
informed (though certainly not objective) discussions that
take place. I think the moderation system is a great way
to keep free speech from getting annoying, and I've doled out
my share of moderation in the past.

When it comes to buying and selling, my first stop online is
eBay. I even maintain an
"about me" page on their server. Why shamelessly
promote a corporate interest on my home page? Because I like
the philosophy implicit in their online auction forums: bring
buyer and seller together, and get the heck out of the
way. Long after the pure "e-tailers" collapse, I think this
e-commerce model will be going strong.

| Of course, I'm not the only person I know who's
into the Internet. Very few of the others maintain their own
sites, though, with the notable exception of my
brother Brad, whose stunning self portrait appears at right.
He's currently an undergrad at Arizona
State, and has other plans to fall back on in case the art
doesn't work.
