Sophomore Winter Calendar -- 2008


January

  • Spring SA programs:
    • See Study Abroad Handbook for orientation schedule and deadlines; first deadline is Friday of First Week.
  • Junior-Year SA programs:
    • Complete study abroad application. Long-term and extended-term applications are DUE 1/15.
    • Ask faculty if they are willing to provide SA recommendations (also due 1/15).
    • Give advisor application to read and sign.
  • Preparing for Declaration of Major Day: 3 related events centered around Dewing Commons -- 1/22
    • Departmental Student Advisors (DSA) Fair: information about potential majors from students who have "been there, done that" -- 4:00 - 5:30pm, Dewing Commons (with food!).
    • CCD "Major" Workshops: assess your major and career interests -- 5pm or 6pm, adjacent to the DSA Fair.
    • Counseling Center workshops on Making Good Decisions, 5pm or 6pm, adjacent to the DSA Fair.

  • 4 and Forever: Determine Career Options -- Speaker: Brad O'Neill '93 -- 1/24, 6pm, Recital Hall (free food and T-shirts)

February

  • Declaration of Major Day is 11:30 - 12:30pm, Feb. 7th, in the Fine Arts Lobby.
  • Monte Carlo: 2/9, from 9pm - 1am.
  • Externship Catalog available 2/8.
  • Advising and Registration: 6th & 7th Weeks.
  • Externship Applications DUE 2/20.
  • Watch for Resume-writing workshops.
  • Career counseling available.

March

  • Exam Week: March 17-20.
  • Externship Acceptances DUE 3/17.
  • Spring Break: March 21-30.
