• FOSS for Capacity Building in Higher Education (Applying Computer Science to Social Justice):
  • SMART: Software for Managing Academic Records and Transcripts, a collaboration with Njala University and the University of Sierra Leone (Free and Open Source Software)
• Computer Science Education:
  • Free and Open Source Software (from teaching, development, and software engineering perspectives)
  • Aquarium Lab Series, a series of mixed-length laboratory exercises that provide students with an opportunity to put introductory programming concepts to work immediately (meant to be used very early in an introductory course on programming in Java or C++ )
  • Marine Biology Simulation case study for the Advanced Placement Program (see my web pages for Teaching Resources for AP Teachers and Teaching Resources related to the MBS case study)
  • Grid Package, a library of Java classes for modeling objects in a two-dimensional grid, as well as accompanying classes that make it easy to create graphical user interfaces to display and interact with such models
• Object-Oriented Programming: object-oriented languages, object-oriented design and specification methods, inheritance semantics
• Software Engineering: software design, agile methods, algebraic axiomatic specifications, testing, software maintenance
• Academic Computing Applications: algorithms and applications to support student enrollment and degree progress
• Human-Computer Interfaces: hypertext and hypermedia, graphical user interfaces, programming interfaces
